Hey, NEXUS Community!

Many of you aren't openly picky about the music we play in the gym - but maybe you should be! Music can have a profound impact on the experience of working out, enhancing both motivation and performance. When people listen to music that resonates with their personal preferences and energy levels, it can serve as a powerful source of motivation, making it easier to push through fatigue and discomfort. Upbeat and rhythmic music can synchronize with one's movements, helping to maintain a steady pace and improve coordination. Music also has the ability to elevate mood and reduce the perception of effort, which can lead to longer and more enjoyable workouts.

The effects of music on working out are not just physical but also psychological, creating an environment that fosters focus, endurance, and a heightened sense of enjoyment during exercise - so let us know what you want to hear to get through those tough workouts!

The FMS is a basic movement screening that is used to find hidden movement habits, muscle weakness, balance, compensations and to prevent injury. Anyone can do the FMS as it is a simple set of measured movements designed to look at how your body moves in patterns, not parts. NEXUS believes physical movement is learned behavior through shape change. This means we can define our starting conditions through the FMS and relearn proper form inside functional fitness for healing and training.

The FMS gives NEXUS the unique information to construct your data-driven personalized plan. NEXUS uses the screening to provide corrective exercises for you to do in the gym or the comfort of your own home.

So, If you feel like a past injury is getting in the way of your performance, or if you seem to be hitting a plateau, these evaluations will tell you everything you need to know about how to improve your fitness!

*The FMS is required for Personal Training, Technique Training, & to move through the Performance Training Levels.

The FMS is $189 or you can BUNDLE IT UP for $269 to add in a session with our Physical Therapist Sean! If you want to retest the FMS is only $89

The FCS quantifies the physical qualities that are not sport/activity specific and are possessed at a young age - resources that support human performance. Looking at these metrics of fundamental movement capacities allows us to identify roadblocks that need to be addressed prior to optimizing specific skill development.

The FCS gives NEXUS the unique information to construct your data-driven personalized plan. NEXUS uses the screening to provide corrective exercises for you to do in the gym or the comfort of your own home. Athletes warm up these exercises before classes. All NEXUS Coaches are familiar with supporting these areas in a class structure for optimal individual training.

*The FCS is required to move through the Performance Training Levels.
